Yes, SmartSearchWP can take into account the content of other plugins under certain conditions:
- Either the plugin uses ACF fields
- Or the plugin creates custom post types. The basic types on WordPress are “posts” and “pages”, but plugins can create others… customized 😉
If either of these two conditions is met, SmartSearchWP will be able to take your plugins’ content into account.
For example, the BetterDocs FAQ plugin creates custom post types called “docs”. With the“ACF & custom post type” addon, you can find these custom post types in the “Post types” section of the addon and select them. Once selected, you’ll find these post types in the “contexts” section. In the case of the BetterDocs FAQ, you’ll be able to include content created via the Betterdocs plugin in your contexts. This extends the possibilities of feeding your chatbot chatGPT SmartSearchWP to infinity!
Of course, we can’t test every plugin for compatibility! To find out whether your plugin is compatible with SmartSearchWP, your plugin must create custom post types.
